As related pure gasoline outpaces crude manufacturing development, North Dakota’s Bakken Shale faces extra oil pipeline takeaway capability by 2021, when manufacturing is anticipated to hit 1.5 million b/d.
The North Dakota Pipeline Authority (NDPA) expects two main pipeline enlargement tasks to extend present oil takeaway capability by 775,000 b/d.
NDPA Director Justin Kringstad instructed NGI’s Shale Day by day that the proposed expansion of the Dakota Entry Pipeline (DAPL) and the greenfield Liberty Pipeline every have the industrial help to get constructed. “They’re each actively working by the regulatory course of,” he stated.
Kringstad stated 2021 is the goal in-service date for each tasks, assuming all regulatory approvals are obtained. DAPL’s enlargement schedule has not been made public, so “it is rather tough to say if the business would expertise any momentary extra pipeline capability within the coming years.”
